Welcome to Patrick Henry Middle School (PHMS), home of the Patriots!  This is an amazing school filled with highly dedicated teachers and staff members, motivated students, supportive families and community partnerships.  We all work together to cultivate a strong community at Patrick Henry Middle School.  

At Patrick Henry Middle School, we pride ourselves in having a safe, supportive, caring and nurturing environment in which we strive to ensure all students succeed.  We offer a variety of programs.  We have support systems in place and offer opportunities to assist students to be successful academically, emotionally and socially.   In addition to our rigorous academic offerings, students have the opportunity to enroll in a variety of electives during class time as well as during Intervention and/or Enrichment (I&E) time which is unique to Patrick Henry.  This additional time provides students, who otherwise would not have an opportunity to take an elective, to do so.  Our elective course offerings, although not comprehensive, include drum line, sewing, gardening, chess, cartooning, robotics, computer science, computer digital graphics, gaming, Making Movies that Matter, film making, bicycling, track team, indoor soccer, basketball, peer counseling, yearbook, and leadership. Students also have the opportunity to participate in clubs and sports during lunch in our Intramural program or after school.  We also offer a free after school programs that provide tutoring, computers, homework room, dance, cooking and sports.  Our goal is that our students receive a well-rounded education during school hours as well as beyond the bell in our after school programs. 

Parents are an integral part of the success of our school.  There are numerous opportunities for parents to be involved in their child’s education at PHMS.  It is this partnership that makes Patrick Henry Middle School a unique learning environment.  We have a state-of-the-art Parent Center where we offer parent workshops, hold meetings and have trainings.  We are also proud to have active parent organizations including PTSA, PAVA Patron Boosters and STEM Magnet Boosters.  We also have active committees including School Based Management (SBM), School Site Council (SSC) and English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC).  We encourage all parents to become actively involved as they are our “partners in education”.  Our school’s success is also due to our community partners.  We pride ourselves in working collaboratively with all our community partners and are always in search of new partnerships.
